Product Description
The Jones Flagship channels pure freeride intent into a directional, medium-tapered platform built for confident charging on technical terrain. A Control Core and Triax Fiberglass layup, amplified by a Bcomp Carbon Flax Stringer, deliver mid-stiff precision and natural vibration dampening. Float Pack inserts push your stance deep for powder float, while a High 3D Contour Base and High Traction Tech keep edge engagement sharp across all conditions. For advanced riders who don't compromise.
Product Details
| Rocker Type | Directional Camber / Rocker: camber underfoot for responsive edge grip and drive, rocker at the nose for smooth turn initiation, powder float, and maneuverability |
| Flex | 4 / 5 (Med-Stiff) |
| Shape | Directional, Medium Tapered |
| Topsheet | Ash Wood Veneer: lightweight wood veneer layer that dampens edge chatter and delivers a consistent, even flex feel |
| Core | Control Core: dual density Paulownia and Poplar (2:1) woodcore, light, damp, and durable |
| Laminates | Triax Fiberglass: triple-layer, multi-axis fiberglass for mid-stiff torsional flex, precision, and power in variable conditions · Bcomp Carbon Flax Stringer: carbon and flax stringer co-developed with Swiss engineer Bcomp, the carbon delivers pop while the flax absorbs vibrations and reduces CO₂ versus an all-carbon stringer |
| Base | Sintered 8000 Base: premium sintered base, ultra-fast and highly absorbent, easy to repair · High 3D Contour Base: 7 mm spoon bevel at the nose (0–7 mm at the tail), surfboard-hull-inspired shaping to progressively reduce tip and tail friction |
| Sidewalls | Recycled ABS: 100% recycled ABS sidewalls with a rounded finish to reduce chipping |
| Edges | Recycled Edges: recycled German steel edges for maximum robustness and durability |
| Epoxy | Durabond Bio-Epoxy [27]: 27% plant-based carbon bio-epoxy, -33% CO₂ versus conventional petrochemical epoxy, present on all Jones boards |
| Traction | High Traction Tech: small serrations along the running length that add multiple contact points to sharpen edge grip, especially where rocker reduces edge contact |
| Inserts | Float Pack: additional insert set enabling a very set-back stance position for deep powder riding |
| Additional Features | Fair Trade Certified · Solar Built (100% solar-powered production) · Forever Flex (pre-ridden 20-day break-in process) · Factory Tuned (detuned and waxed with WEND Natural Wax, ready to ride) |
Flagship Snowboard 2027 FAQ
Is the Flagship only for expert riders, or can a strong intermediate handle it?
The Flagship is built for experienced to advanced freeriders. Its 4/5 med-stiff flex, Triax Fiberglass laminates, and medium-heavy taper (12 to 14 mm across sizes) reward decisive edge pressure and commitment. A strong intermediate pushing into steeper terrain will find it challenging but rewarding. Riders still building consistent carving technique will have a harder time unlocking its performance.
What does the Ash Wood Veneer topsheet actually do for the ride?
The Ash Wood Veneer topsheet serves a functional purpose beyond looks. Wood veneer naturally dampens edge chatter and flex oscillation that builds on hard-snow runs, delivering a quieter, more composed feel underfoot. On the Flagship, it contributes to the confidence-inspiring ride in technical freeride terrain, where reducing feedback noise lets you stay focused on your line at speed.
How set-back can I get my stance in deep powder?
The Flagship ships with a Float Pack, a set of extra inserts that let you push your stance much further back than the reference position. This shifts weight off the nose in deep snow for maximum float. The directional shape already has natural setback built in; the Float Pack amplifies it further for heavy powder days. You just remount your bindings to the rear inserts.
Will the Flagship float in deep snow despite its stiffer 4/5 flex?
Yes. Medium taper (12 to 14 mm depending on size) keeps the nose meaningfully wider and higher than the tail, promoting float without needing to actively pump the board. The Dir. Camber / Rocker profile lifts the nose further, and the Float Pack lets you add even more nose-up setback. Stiffness helps the board plane through variable and heavy snow at speed rather than sinking.
What does the Bcomp Carbon Flax Stringer add on top of the Triax Fiberglass?
The Triax Fiberglass already provides stiff, precise torsional control. The Bcomp Carbon Flax Stringer adds tip-to-tail pop for launching off natural terrain, plus flax fiber to absorb the vibrations a pure carbon stringer would transmit. On the Flagship, the combination means you get snappy response off the tail and a composed, quiet feel when charging rough fall-line terrain at speed.
Can I ride the Flagship switch?
The Flagship is a directional board with 12 to 14 mm of taper across sizes, meaning the nose is meaningfully wider and longer than the tail. Switch riding is technically possible in casual situations, but the geometry and setback are optimized entirely for forward riding. This board is built to charge fall-line freeride terrain with authority, not to balance switch performance.
