Product Description
The Mountain Twin is Jones's award-winning do-it-all directional twin, built for riders who refuse to choose between power and play. Its CamRock profile delivers carve-ready camber underfoot with surf-style rocker in the nose and tail, while the Master Core and Bcomp Carbon Flax Stringer pair lightweight pop with vibration-damping smoothness. Add Medium 3D Contour Base and Traction Tech, and every run from groomers to side hits is within reach.
Product Details
| Rocker Type | CamRock: rocker in the nose for float and easy turn initiation, camber underfoot for grip and pop, rocker in the tail for a surfy, playful exit. |
| Flex | 3 / 5 (Medium) |
| Shape | Directional Twin |
| Sidecut | Progressive (varies by size) |
| Core | Master Core: Paulownia + Poplar (1:1) dual-density woodcore. Lightweight, poppy, and durable. |
| Laminates | Biax Fiberglass: Biaxial fiberglass (dual-layer, bi-directional). Mid-soft torsional flex, forgiving, fast energy transfer · Bcomp Carbon Flax Stringer: Carbon + flax stringer developed with Swiss engineer Bcomp. Carbon provides pop; flax absorbs vibrations and reduces CO2 vs. all-carbon stringer. |
| Sidewalls | Recycled ABS: 100% recycled ABS sidewalls with rounded finish to reduce chipping. |
| Base | Sintered 8000 Base: Premium sintered base, ultra-fast, highly wax-absorbent, easy to repair. |
| Edges | Recycled Edges: Recycled German steel edges for maximum robustness and durability. |
| Topsheet | Premium Topsheet: Durable, scratch-resistant for intensive use. |
| Additional Features | Medium 3D Contour Base: 4 mm spoon bevel nose, 0–4 mm tail, reduces nose/tail friction inspired by surfboard hull design · Traction Tech (Medium): Serrations along the running length for improved edge grip, especially with rocker, compensates edge drift · Durabond Bio-Epoxy [27]: Bio-sourced epoxy, 27% plant-based carbon, -33% CO2 vs. conventional petrochemical epoxy, present on 100% of Jones boards |
| Binding Compatibility | Freeride/Freestyle Pack: Additional inserts allowing stance to be centered or set back depending on conditions. |
Mountain Twin Snowboard 2027 FAQ
Can I ride the Mountain Twin switch, or is it mainly directional?
The Mountain Twin is a directional twin with zero taper, so the nose and tail are the same shape and the stance reference is centered. You can ride switch with full confidence. The CamRock profile (rocker nose, camber underfoot, rocker tail) gives you pop and float in both directions, making it as playful fakie as it is regular.
Will the medium flex forgive mistakes in variable snow?
At 3/5 (medium), the Mountain Twin sits squarely in a happy medium. The Biax Fiberglass delivers a mid-soft torsional feel that forgives edge catches, while the CamRock rocker tips lift out of trouble positions. It has enough response to keep an advanced rider engaged without demanding the precision a stiffer freeride board requires.
How often will I need to wax this board?
The Sintered 8000 base is highly wax-absorbent and holds a treatment well. In typical resort conditions, one hot wax before the season and every 4 to 5 days of riding keeps it fast. Sintered bases absorb wax more deeply than extruded alternatives, are easy to stone-grind, and straightforward to repair if you catch a rock.
What does the Bcomp Carbon Flax Stringer actually add to the ride?
The Bcomp Carbon Flax Stringer runs tip-to-tail and adds snappy pop for ollies and quick edge-to-edge response. The flax fiber component absorbs chatter rather than transmitting it to your feet, unlike a pure carbon stringer. The result is a lively, poppy ride that stays quiet and controlled on hard and variable snow.
I have big feet (US 11.5+) — will I get toe or heel drag?
The Mountain Twin offers Big Horn Ultra Wide (UW) sizes: 158UW (waist 27.8 cm), 161UW (28.0 cm), and 164UW (28.2 cm), designed for US boot 11.5 and up. Regular Wide (W) sizes run from 153W to 168W with waists from 25.7 to 26.9 cm for US boot 9.5 to 11+. The size table specifies the exact boot range per size.
What does the Freeride/Freestyle Pack do and when would I actually use it?
The Freeride/Freestyle Pack is a set of additional inserts built into the Mountain Twin. It lets you shift your stance further back for deep powder days to pull weight off the nose and increase float, or center it more for park sessions. You remount your bindings between sessions. No tools or hardware changes needed beyond a screwdriver.
Is the Mountain Twin accessible for an intermediate rider, or will they outgrow it quickly?
The medium flex (3/5) and CamRock profile make it accessible to a solid intermediate, and it has real performance headroom for advanced all-mountain riding. It is not a beginner board, but a confident intermediate who wants one board for groomers, side hits, and powder days will feel at home on it and grow into it over multiple seasons.
Will this board hold an edge when I push hard on groomed runs?
Camber underfoot keeps the board loaded against the snow and produces real edge tension through a carve. The Biax Fiberglass adds torsional stability so the edge bites evenly along its length. The High Traction Tech serrations along the running length also compensate for edge drift in the rockered sections, so it grips confidently without washing out on driven turns.
