Who is this board for, and what level do I need to be?
The Storm Chaser is built for intermediate to expert riders who spend most of their time in powder and freeriding off-piste. On the Storm Chaser, the swallowtail shape and float-focused geometry mean you need solid edge control and comfort riding steep terrain. This isn't a beginner's resort cruiser—it's a confident powder slasher.
Is this board good for powder?
The nose sits higher than the tail with a 7mm spoon bevel, and the tail rocker lifts your back foot off the snow. On the Storm Chaser, that design makes the board skip and float on fresh snow instead of diving, so you stay high and light. Combined with the directional swallowtail shape, you get both float and radical carving in deep days.
What's the difference between camber and rocker?
The Storm Chaser has camber under the binding area (where your feet sit) and rocker only at the tail. On the Storm Chaser, that split profile gives you edge grip and snappy response underfoot when you're carving, while the rocker tail keeps you from getting stuck in powder and forgives sloppy tail transitions.
How stiff should my board be, and what does flex actually change on snow?
The Storm Chaser runs a 4 out of 5 flex—mid-stiff with pop and liveliness. On the Storm Chaser, that balance means you can charge hard at speed and the board won't chatter, but it's still responsive enough to jump around and slash through trees. Soft enough to stay forgiving on imperfect snow, stiff enough to hold a line.
What do carbon stringers or carbon additives do for the ride?
The core is reinforced with a carbon and flax stringer running tip-to-tail underneath the binding inserts. On the Storm Chaser, the carbon adds pop and snappiness without extra weight, while the flax dampens vibrations so the board feels smooth and controlled at speed.
